Winners Emerge as Quranic Competition Ends in Kogi

Ustaz Nuhu Ahmed Ibrahim from Okene local government area and Malama Aminah Jibril Dada’u from Lokoja local government area today emerged overall winners in the first category at the 26th edition of Kogi state Qur’anic recitation and its exegesis (Tafsir).
Ustaz Nuhu won the male category while Malama Aminah jibril Dada’u emerged victorious in the female second category.
The competition which was organised by the Kogi State Council of Ulamau took place at Isah Kutepa Memorial Central Mosque in Lokoja.
State Chairman of Kogi State Council of Ulamau, in his welcome address, urged relevant stakeholders in the upliftment of Islam in the state to always contribute their quotas towards such competitions and other islamic activities.
Also speaking, the chairman of the competition and Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Hon. Abdulmumin Ahmad Okara, commended the organisers for the successful conclusion of the competition.
Hon. Okara, who also doubled as the representative of the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, encouraged Muslims to learn and put the Quran teachings into practice in their daily lives.
According to him, the state government will always give it moral and financial support to activities like this, saying that the state government in collaboration with other stakeholders, will ensure the hosting of the national competition of Qur’anic recitation In the nearest future.
The winners will represent the State at the National level at the competition which is expected to hold in Gombe state later this month.‎
