Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones has charged students of Kogi State University, Kabba to be focused, resilient and continue to work hard in the pursuit of their academic studies.
The Commissioner gave the charge on Tuesday in Kabba at the occasion of the celebration of the Students Week which featured cultural displays from the three major ethnic groups in the State.

He encouraged them to set their eyes on their goals and should not be limited by challenges in the cause of their Studies.
He prayed that the God Almighty will translate their dreams into reality for them to be great Men and Women in the Society.
The State Government he said will do everything within its powers to ensure that the School environment is conducive for learning, noting that the State is aware of the challenges being faced by the University.

He promised that within the next two to three months all the ongoing projects will be completed and the problems of accommodation and lecture rooms will be the things of the past.
In his address, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof K I T Eniola represented by the Registrar Dr. J U Amodu Commended the former Governor of the State Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his vision in establishing the institution and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for consolidating on the achievements of his immediate predecessor, saying that the University is not just an academic environment for learning but building leaders that will be globally competitive and locally relevant.
He said that the University since its inception has grown from strength to strength and can favourably compete with the first generation Universities.
In his welcome address, the Dean of Students Affairs, Dr. Eniola Dare Joseph said that the Students week is to showcase talents, foster Unity, building leadership and excellent amongst the Students
He Commended the students for making the week possible and memorable.
