“We Believe In Simultaneous Transformation of Urban and Rural Areas”

The present administration in Kogi State says it has placed priority in rural and urban development, little wonder it has been working to develop and renew decayed infrastructures.

Kogi State Governor, Capt. Idris Wada made this known when he received course 23 participants of the national defense college Nigeria, Abuja who are on local study tour of kogi state at the government house.

The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi, disclosed that urban renewal is germane to the aspiration of the present administration, described the theme of the study tour, socio-economic development through urban renewal in Kogi State as very apt.

Capt  Wada disclosed that his administration believes in the simultaneous transformation of urban and rural areas, as there could be a sharp developmental  imbalance which could accelerate rural/urban migration of not addressed especially in an agrarian  community like Kogi State.

The Governor urged the participants to allow their research elicit a good mix of rural and urban development at the same time highlight the nexus between socio-economic development and urban renewal in kogi state.

In his remarks, the team lead, Air commodore K.G. Zari, said the twenty five man team drawn from within the nation’s military high command, is in the state to undertake a research that is geared towards socio-economic development, through urban development, challenges and prospects, commended the urban renewal efforts of the Capt Idris Wada administration.

In his welcome remakes, Air commodore Mathis Abdullahi (rtd) said the team is in the state for a geostrategic tour said aside the visit to some local government areas, Ajaokuta steel company and Obanjana cement factory will also be their area of focus.
