Wada Hails Nomination of Onaiyekan as Cardinal of Roman Catholic Church

The nomination of  John Olorunfemi  Onaiyekan, Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, as Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church has been described by Capt Idris Wada, Kogi state Governor as good news to the nation amidst the several negative reports the nation is presently associated with.

Capt Idris Wada stated this at the Episcopal Ordination Anniversary and Celebration of the elevation thanksgiving held in honour of the Cardinal.

Wada noted through a statement in Lokoja that as an indigene of Kogi State, Cardinal Onaiyekan has proven that the State boost of quality human resources that are pride to the nation.

Capt Wada who spoke through his Deputy,Yomi Awoniyi, maintained that the nomination of the Cardinal as the third from Nigeria, not only boost the chances of Nigeria producing the next Catholic Pope, it also came at a time when the global negative perception of the nation needs a turn around.

Capt Wada disclosed that the people of the State rejoice with the Cardinal, his family, the Catholic Community and the nation as a whole, describing the feat as unique, rare and geared towards the progress of the nation
