Kogi State House of Assembly members from Okunland have described the loyalty of the Kogi State Deputy Governor, Arc Yomi Awoniyi to his boss, Capt idris Wada as unflinching, unalloyed and unconditional.
Hon. Henry Ojuola made this statement when members of the State House of Assembly from the five Okun speaking areas of the State visited the Deputy Governor in his office on a sympathy visit on the recent auto crash involving the State Governor,Capt Idris Wada in which he lost his ADC,ASP Mohammed Idris.
The legislators prayed God to Grant the Governor speedy recovery to enable him return and continue with his transformation agenda for the state.
Highlight of the legislators visit was prayers offered for quick recovery of the State Governor,his Deputy,the family of the late ADC and the State in general.
Yomi Awoniyi, while responding, advised the Kogi State Chairman of Action Congress of Nigeria ACN, Alhaji Hadi Ametuo not to embark on a mission of criticism that is detrimental to the progress of the state.
The Deputy Governor described the utterances of the State Chairman of the ACN regarding the state of health of Capt Idris Wada as misleading and unhealthy for the State.
He appealed to him to always cross check his facts before going to the press so as not to run foul of the law.
Awoniyi disclosed that the absence of the Governor has not in any way slowed down government business.
Rather than seek cheap popularity, Awoniyi urged the ACN Chairman to be human regarding his utterances adding that it was an accident which could happen to anybody.
Awoniyi thank God for the Governor’s speedy rate of recovery within a shot time and commended the initiative of the Legislators for the visit.
