A political group in Kogi State, Unity 2015 has described as laughable, indicting, sham and a ruse, the workers day’s address to the civil servants in Kogi state by the accidental governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

The group slam the governor after carefully perusing his address to the Kogi civil populace and resolved genuinely that the much talked about new direction is cosmetic and lack road map towards the emancipation of our workers welfare.

They  wondered how a government which had a proposed 2016 budget in place before his illegal occupation of government ‎House and audited and certified account reports of the spending of the first four year tenure published in the national dailies and the first of its kind in the country and since the creation of Kogi state in the last two and half decades of “kleptomania”, saying it is now evidenced that the Bello led administration stance of spend thrift is ironically bestowed on the previous government who was known for prudence, financial discipline, fiscal dexterity and sound economic policies that was beneficial to the state.

They challenged the Yahaya Bello tsunami administration to declare how many Prado jeeps he met at inception and how many he has acquired by flagrant abuse of power to himself, the three concubines turned wives, his political aides and marabouts ‎with lean financial position of Kogi state at his inception.

The workers of Kogi state should be able to separate people centered administration to an avarice reign based on his shambles address  ‎and confirmation of his receipt of four months allocation and paying two months salary taking credit of that scenario and the need to monitor closely why his much talked about January/February salary is now a sing song knowing fully well the burden of arrears of three months salary due for the civil servant lies as a liability of the state government to offset, advising civil servant to confront the governor headlong through commitment to avoid sharp practices against them.

The group also advised the workers union ‎which consist of NLC/TUC to be wary of Greek gift from governor yahaya Bello as that will further mortgage the welfare of the already impoverished state workforce in their quest for their statutory entitlements spread over six months, saying workers does not need buses for now.

They further labelled the governor with his  blatant lies ‎and empty promises, saying that his antecedents at the RMFAC along with his exposure to GTB through loan and advances via his friend the Chief of Staff, Edward Onoja and his inability to pay off his loans at the bank is still a record that Kogians will demand explanation in due course.

“We are not unaware of his collusion with some reputable banks and bankers to defraud the Kogi government because of the uncertainty surrounding his ascension to power”. We are determined to serve as watchdog.

“He reluctantly announced the release of a tranche of the bail out he claimed to have applied for instead of the previous administration. It is quite shocking as an accountant governor, does not know the requirement to access a facility in a financial institution, stating that his self contrived assembly members and non existence of the state Executive Council cannot fetch him CBN approval of the fund.”

They challenged him to publish the approvals from the Assembly and state Exco on the national dailies including the unsolicited state budget for 2016 prepared by the immediate past administration and passed into law by his estranged assembly members. ‎
