I want to congratulate all well meaning Nigerians for being alive to witness a new Chapter in Nigeria History yesterday May 29. A day when Nigerians home and abroad witnessed a transition to a new government and hope for a better life.

All eyes on the Giant of Africa as exchange of baton from President Muhammadu Buhari to a new version of President Muhammadu Buhari  become necessary, and as well some State Governors will also exchange baton of power with the newly elected Governors to start from where they stop.

Election has come and gone, I want to enjoin every Nigerians to support the newly elected leaders irrespective of which political party you belong. It is in unity that we can achieve greater things and not when we are divided.

This is not the time to play politics with everything by starting to frustrate the newly elected leaders. We need to cooperate and work as a team to achieve the best we deserve as a nation. Let us learn to do away with our political affiliations and work towards the same goals. Wish the party in power well and not see them as your political rivals or opponents. Be polite and constructive in your criticism and avoid causing distraction to government in power.

Let me sound this to you that a leader cannot be successful without the cooperation of his or her subordinates. They need your advise, not your insult. They need you to obey law and order and not to be rude. Being PDP member doesn’t mean you should disrespect the sitting Governor from APC and vice versa. Let us put our country first before considering our political interest so as not to jeopardize the future of this great nation. Our loyalty is expected to be first to Nigeria and not Political parties. We need to live like a family and not as rivals all in the name of politics. Hatred will not take us anywhere so we need to behave like a one big family.

To the elected leaders, count yourself lucky and not perfect to be voted for. You are expected to cater for the masses and not to make them cry. Do the right thing at the right time like paying their salaries as at when due. Remember your Pensioners and provide basic social amenities because it is their right to enjoy it. Create job opportunities for the teeming populace and always feel their pain. Don’t behave like an ingrate.  Please don’t turn yourself to Pharaoh or Lion in the face of your subjects. To whom much is given, much is expected. I will advise you not to turn your four years in office to a nightmare for the masses. I wish Nigeria best of New regime.
