The University of Jos Alumni Association (UJAA) has publicly commended Chief Peter Owoeye for his sustained support of the ongoing construction of the University of Jos Alumni Secretariat and Centre, following a fresh donation of seven trips of 10-tyre sand valued at ₦950,000.
The latest contribution comes on the heels of an earlier donation from Chief Owoeye of 6,000 blocks worth ₦6.3 million, bringing his total support for the project to well over ₦7 million in materials.
In a statement issued on behalf of the association’s National Executive Council and the wider global alumni community, UJAA Global President Dr. Gad Shamaki Peter described Chief Owoeye’s gesture as a reflection of genuine commitment to the university’s legacy.
“This is not just generosity but commitment. This is consistency and this is love for the University of Jos made visible,” Dr. Shamaki Peter said, extending formal thanks to Chief Owoeye on behalf of the association.
According to the statement, the Alumni Secretariat and Centre project is intended to give the University of Jos Alumni family a permanent, befitting home, and each contribution — whether in cash, materials, or kind — brings that vision closer to completion.
Dr. Shamaki Peter also used the occasion to issue a broader call to action to members of the alumni community, urging them not to wait for others before making their own contributions.
“Whatever your capacity, there is a place for your contribution in this story. Let us keep the momentum going. The legacy is taking shape,” he said.
The UJAA leadership further encouraged Josites who encounter Chief Owoeye to personally express their appreciation for his ongoing support of the project.
The Alumni Secretariat and Centre remains one of UJAA’s flagship developmental projects, with the association continuing to mobilize resources from alumni across its global network.
