“Though thy beginning was small, yet your latter end should greatly increase” (Job 8:7)

I could not believe my ears when at about 4pm yesterday Wednesday 12th November, 2014 I received a call of your death. It was indeed a shock to me and a great lose because I know you have left an everlasting vacuum NO ONE else can fill.

Just this evening Thursday when I finally work up to the reality, confirmation and acceptance of your death, I thought of how best I can at least remember your good deeds not as I see you cos there’s no Man on planet earth that can be like you but how others sees you. This prompted me to quickly pick up a book I Cherished so much, Your Biography written by Rev. Kola Balogun, Forward by Gen. David Jemibewon (Rtd.) and launched at your 70th Birthday in 2007.

In this captivating Biography, Rev. Kola Balogun presents the story of a man variously described thus:

* “Very approachable, very Charming, Open minded, and very Friendly. A very honest, Reliable, and Straight Forward man who believes in whatever he undertakes” – HRM M.F.S Olobayo, Obaro of Kabba

* “A household enigma” – Engr. R.O Sabotage

* “A politician with foresight and vision………a very consistent individual” – Late AIG Ahmadu Sheidu Rtd

* “Chief Nihi is matured in reasoning, humble in approach, pragmatic in behavior and highly spiritual” – Hon Dino Melaye

* “Chief J.O Nihi is a man full of initiatives……..his conscience is to make people Comfortable if he has the means”

* “Daddy is a God fairing man who lived a life worthy of emulation. He is an uncommon father and leader” – Sen. Smart Adeyemi

Took little time to go through the Condolence Register and reading through the various comments of people, I made bold to say I AM PROUD YOU ARE MY FATHER and I will continue to be.

Here is the story of a man who overcomes all Obstacles in life and armed himself with mission to create Positive impacts in people’s lives and society.

Let me tell you few of what he did in one of the many positions he was privileged to be have occupied in his lifetime. Between 1980 & 1981, Chief Nihi was appointed chairman, caretaker committee for the defunct Oyi Local Government (OKUN PEOPLE) then under Kwara that now constitute Five (5) LGA of Kogi West Senatorial District of Kogi State. He established six (6) local government secondary schools across the area as follows:

1. Kabba District at Otu- Egunbe

2. Bunu District at Aiyede-Oppa

3. West Yagba at Ejiba

4. South-East Yagba at (Alalodu) Ejuku

5. North East Yagba at Takete-Idde, Amuro (now Government Secondary School)

This is the compelling story of My Father Chief Joshua Olorundare Nihi – THE MAN WHO CARES!
