For decades now, Ajaokuta has been experiencing poor representations where top national issues are been discussed with the adoption of plausible resolutions for the benefit of Nigerian citizens.
The people of Ajaokuta LGA unanimously sought for the son of the soil, Barr Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem (SEA) to come to their rescue having risen to the peak of his career as a Permanent Secretary in the civil service with an indescribable wealth of knowledge and experience to move Ajaokuta LGA to the promised land.
Among other reasons the Ajaokuta people called on Hon Sanni to come to their rescue was his involvement in the amplification of the New Direction blueprints with the conviction that he is a product of excellent leadership knowing that he grew under the mentorship of the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alh. Yahaya Bello.
The last general election was an ample opportunity for the people to express their desire for better representation through their franchise. They massively voted for Sanni Egidi who they see as a true messiah coming to change the ugly narration.
Hon Sanni, a first-timer threw his heart into the ring and contested against an incumbent House of Representatives, and a former Ajaokuta chairman who has contested twice. They were both dismantled and shamefully defeated as Hon Sanni Egidi won in 12 wards out of the 14 wards of Ajaokuta LGA and the two other contestants won in one ward respectively.
As glaring as the victory appears to be, those failed and desperate politicians who are agents of poor representation when they are at the helm of affairs challenged the victory of the people via the court of competent jurisdiction. However, they both experienced another severe defeat as their case was dismissed for lacking locus standi.
The Tribunal dismissed the petition filed by Hon Aloysius Okino and Hon Lawal Idris, describing the petition as frivolous, fictitious and thus lacking merit. This dismissal has renewed the hope of the Ajaokuta people for their thirst for better representation.
Today, the people of Ajaokuta LGA have changed their prayer point from “Oh Lord give us a good leader to Oh Lord thanks for giving us Sanni Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem
