The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial district at the National Assembly, Senator Dino Melaye has allegedly returned to his vomit as he reportedly ran to Lagos through Some APC Senators to beg the leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to help him use the party machinery to retain his seat at the national assembly as event unfolding suggest that his days are numbered in the Senate.
A pro-Senator Smart Adeyemi group, SSA Continuity made this allegation in a telephone conversation with our correspondent last night.
According to the spokesperson of the group, “it was reliably gathered that Senator Dino Melaye has been running from pillar to post to compromise some big wigs in the APC to obstruct justice. He has promised to commence an impeachment move against the President of the Senate, Senator Bukola Saraki since that is his only rift with Asiwaju Tinubu and also pay any price that may be required of him if the APC leader can protect him from the sharp sword of Justice”
The media was recently awash with allegations from Senator Dino Melaye’s that Senator Smart Adeyemi was working with Asiwaju Tinubu to remove him from office, a claim Mr Tinubu debunked.
The group further alleged that Dino has also attempted to compromise some Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials to write another letter changing their initial position that he went through primaries but failed in his bid and has now resort to begging the party hierarchy especially Tinubu to save him.
“The desperate move by Hon. Melaye to cover up the primary saga started when the appeal court sitting in Abuja held that, primary election is sine qua non to the general election and the tribunal was wrong to have struck out the petition of the Peoples Democratic Party candidate for house of assembly in Mopa Amuro, Hon. Eric Fiki claiming it was a pre-election matter. Eric Fiki has petitioned the winner of the election at tribunal claiming he did not go through primaries and as such, he is not qualify to contest the general election. This is similar to the petition filled by Senator Smart Adeyemi challenging the victory of Dino Melaye”, the spoke person of the group said.
“We hold the leadership of the APC in a very high esteem and we are hopeful that they will not compromise to obstruct justice but rather stand for the change they promised. It is also important to emphasise that the world is watching us as we continue our journey to change Nigeria for better.
