A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yagba East local government area of Kogi State, Chief Joseph Owoeye has called on Governor Yahaya Bello to see his victories over all petitions at the election tribunal as a needed tonic to lead the state to its rightful place in the nation.

In a statement issued in Lokoja on Saturday, Owoeye congratulated Governor Bello, his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja and the APC family on the judgement affirming the victory of the party and its candidates in last governorship election.

The community leader called on all party loyalists to continue to support the APC-led state government to achieve its set goals for the good of the people.

“The judgment of Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja against the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engr. Musa Wada and other parties has justified our collective decision to take the state a step further with Governor Yahaya Bello and Chief Edward Onoja.

“Our resolve to support the Governor for a second term in office was premised on practical reasoning and firm belief that majority of Kogi electorate cannot be wrong at the same time. The victories recorded against PDP, SDP and APP has justified our efforts.

“I urge my brothers and sisters on the other side to join hands with the governor and support his lofty plans for the state,” he said.

Joining the celebration train, Hon. Matthew James Avabee, popular known as Mr spreading, called on Governor Bello and his deputy to be magnanimous in victory and be focused in doing more for the good people of the state.

He stated that the ruling is a confirmation of the divine will of God and of the credible choice of the good people of the state.

“For some of us who are ardent followers of this government, this is not coming as a surprise because it is clear all along that the people overwhelmingly gave their mandate to BellOnoja in 2019.

“It also reinforces the confidence our people have in the judiciary. This is a good development for the advancement of democracy in our nation Nigeria.

“I will encourage everyone to rise above pedestal partisanship and contribute to the building of the New direction Government competent lead by the two professionals in the State under one agenda (EBIGO),” he said.

Mr Spreading, however, urged the PDP candidate and major challenger, Engr Musa Wad, to accept the judgment in good faith and cooperate with the young governor and his deputy in the task of making Kogi the envy of all in terms of growth and development.
