TOLDNetwork in conjunction with the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Kogi State Chapter will on Saturday, June 16, host youths and notable leaders at the Governance and Leadership Summit (GLS).
The convener, Sijuade Adeyeye said the aim of the summit is to enlighten the populace on good governance and address the issue of election.
The Summit will feature educational seminars and interactive sessions with knowledgeable resource persons and active participants in the area of governance and leadership.
According to Sijuade, the Summit is a non-partisan and non-religious meeting that has a mandate to educate the populace on citizens rights and obligations.
The Summit will seek to educate participants on how to build political clout and get involved. The event will educate electorates on how to identify right candidates for governance and ensure their emergence at the polls.
“It is assumed that electorate thrive best when we have an educated and enlightened populace. There is no problem without solution, what has been missing in our political equation is citizen engagement! If we activate our power, every government will work! It’s time to get involved.
“The people in power, oppositions and the citizenry must sit down, eliminate prejudice and personal aggrandisement in order to find a way forward. The time has come to be serious with our electoral and electioneering process,” he said.
The Summit will hold on 16th June, 2018 at University Auditorium, Federal University Lokoja.
