Music is said to be a universal language of the soul which connects Mankind across diverse cultural background, race, religion and gender. Over the years, some Musical Icons have used the power of music in uniting Human across the world, Music such as Michael Jackson’s “Heal the world” released in 1991 and Bob Marley’s “One love” in the 1978 has helped in uniting the human race. A Greek philosopher said “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything”.
In our contemporary world where human Identification, personality and social characteristics are becoming complex, Music finds it way of uniting individuals across different countries through Musical shows, concert and tours. It is said that one need not understand it language before it speaks to you because music communicate through pulling the strings and chord of ones emotions. The digital world has also helped in promoting Music across various countries which led to the rise in Fans of certain music Genre such as the Afro beats, This has brought new stars into limelight Mostly in Nigeria and other countries in Africa.
The Early era of the Afrobeats comprising Artistes like Fela Kuti, Angelique kidjo then later Tuface innocent Idibia laid the early foundation to the recognition of the 21st century Afrobeats Artistes such as Burna boy, WizKid, Davido and more who have taken the Afrobeats Genre to an international level and broaden it audience, this has also paved way for new musical talent in Nigeria and other African countries as some were brought to limelight through the coke studio Africa show which has helped in connecting and uniting all the Artistes in the African continent to produce Music despite the diversity in culture and Language.
In our world today, where different issues of economic downturn, anxiety and depression sets in, studies shows that Music is recommended as a therapy for Anti-depressing activities in keeping healthy emotions within the individual. However, every individual has varied taste of Music as It has different Genres ranging from Rnb, Jazz, Hip-hop, Afrobeats, Opera and more. Despite the different taste in individual Music, the purpose of listening to Music Unites all human which is the end result of getting emotionally connected, uplifted and understood.
