Traditional regalia is simply means the royal rights, prerogatives and privileges actually enjoyed by any sovereign, regardless of his title (emperor, grand duke, king, chief, emir etc.).

The emblems, symbols, or paraphernalia indicative of royalty or any other sovereign status; such as a crown, orb, sceptre or sword.

Decorations or insignia indicative of an office or membership of an order or society. Going by the above, traditional dresses is just a mere symbolic identification between the Ruling Class and the subjects.

The present worrisome status of Igala Nation is beyond traditional symbolic identification. Though my assertion might not be accepted by all, but it is glaring for everyone with humane ideology that we are not only wallowing in abject poverty, we are also underdeveloped both in human, social, economic, infrastructure and political advancement.

Though we have various sociological approaches to help ameliorate our problems, which include Social, Political and Traditional Approach. We are lost out in finding a lasting solution to our problems through socio – political approach as a result of greed and selfish political interest of our few political leaders. We have allowed the minor minority to determined the fate of the majority in the game of proportion (so unfortunate). The only approach available for us to press home our needs of social and peaceful cohesion is Traditional Approach.

After waiting for long before having our Traditional Rulers in places, EUREKA was expected from Igala nation instead of dwindling on matters of regalia that have no significant impact on our peaceful coexistence in the face of strange political alienation of ‘eneomunema’ that is negatively staring at us in place of ‘omayeweme’. The onus is on us to support, advice and recommend to our newly and existing traditional rulers without political inclination on a way to actualize the ONENESS of Igala nation. The traditional rulers can also press home development issues through social corporates responsibilities of those companies extracting our COAL in thousands of tunes daily. Despite our sorry political situation, our traditional rulers can unit us ahead of next political exercise without rancor, hatred and prejudice. Yes we can achieve this even without this segmented issue of traditional regalia.

I want to use this avenue to call on each and everyone of us to trend the part that led to peaceful coexistence among the Igala nation. Let us forgive each other and invoke upon the Supreme being to change the attitude of our leaders for positive development.

Congratulations to the brand new ATTA IGALA and all other traditional rulers in Igala Nation. May your reigns bring joy and prosperity to the land. Just my view.
