The Complexity of Kogi State

Kogi state from my view is the most tribal sensitive and complex state in Nigeria. The geography called Kogi state has one problem. Do you know what it is ? The answer is heterogeneous nature of the state. Comparing an obvious homogeneous state like Osun to a heterogeneous state like Kogi defeat metaphysical, epistemological, logical philosophy of reasoning.

A state that even within a local government you have more than two or one ethnic affiliation and nationalities with different introspection and culture.

A state with huge landmass and thick forest more than 4 states in the southeast.

Both young men in their 40”s since 2015 concurrently have been saddled with leadership responsibility. They have to navigate the systemic interest of their subjects. They have to navigate those with personal and selfish interest as against those with the interest of the state. The man that cried loud that his people are marginalized may have gone on close door meeting, looking for contracts or appointments if he doesn’t get it heaven will let loose. This is the reality of the state we are in.

Even those that claimed to fight for their people never factor out other places needing attention. When appointment or projects is conceived, Mr A never seem to look at the scientific and logical need of it which could supercede his inordinate desire but is quick to label it marginalization. Disgusting!

This is the reality of kogi state. A state with numerous mineral resources but never understand why the Government has to set up a structure to ensure miners pay their dues to tap it.

We have only a state university from 1991 when Kogi was created till 2015 when Alhaji Yahaya Bello came on board.

Today, we have 3 state universities courtesy of Alhaji Yahaya Bello’s administration. The first in the North to achieve this feet and amongst the very few in Nigeria. Kogi state is a host to the first renewable energy institute in Nigeria. They don’t want to hear this, they are concerned about appointments, contracts and identity patronage

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo said no that he will address the problems of Kogi state with scientific reasoning devoid of illogicality.
