Critical Stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) from across the 21 local government areas of Kogi State has issued a stern warning to a former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello to stop fueling crises within the party, stating that he will not succeed in his plot to undermine party unity, progress and cohesion ahead of the 2027 Presidential and National Assembly Elections in the state.
The stakeholders, under the umbrella of Concerned APC Leaders, made this known through its Secretary, Hon. Mohammed Tijani after an expanded stakeholders meeting in Lokoja.
They accused the former Governor of being the mastermind behind the crisis that has engulfed Kogi APC after the Presidential and National Assembly Primary Elections in the state.
The group stated that “progressive politics is not about personal and selfish interest which is the hallmark of former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello’s leadership style but about the collective good of the people and the party, working together harmoniously, to ensure the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR and other nominated candidates of the party in the state come 2027.
“It is apparently clear that Former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello is working against the interest of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR and the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kogi State but pretending to be with him, snapping deceitful pictures that portrays him as an ally of the President. Sometimes, the devil is in the small print which cannot be read from afar”
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Working Committee (NWC) of our great party the APC need to be very cautious about the overrated political relevance of the Former Governor as he has never won a free, fair and credible election in the state. It is a statement of fact that Yahaya Bello lacks the capacity to deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR at the grassroot level having lost credibility and grassroots support across the state.
“Former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello must never be allowed to use the APC Senate ticket for Kogi Central as a shield against his ongoing prosecution for financial fraud and money laundering of several billions of naira instituted against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
“It is pertinent to state clearly that Former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello’s crooked senate ambition remains a heavy moral burden placed on the integrity of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and has become a major stain on the collective conscience of millions of Nigerians who view the All Progressive Congress (APC) as a platform for sustainable growth and development in Nigeria.”
The group appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Chairman of the APC, Prof. Nentawe Yiltwatda to call Yahaya Bello to order; advising them to be weary of his gimmicks and deceitful antics capable of complicating the party’s chances of winning elections in the state.
