Hon. Durosinmi Meseko, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has strongly condemned the recent bandits’ attack on the Aiyegunle-Igun community in Bunu, Kogi State, labeling the incident as a heinous act of cowardice.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Meseko expressed his deep sadness over the assault, which resulted in the tragic loss of lives and left the community in mourning. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, praying for the repose of the souls of the departed and quick healing for those affected.
Reassuring the residents of Kogi State, Meseko reiterated the unwavering commitment of both the federal and state governments to tracking down and dismantling criminal networks operating within the region’s vast forest reserves.

He emphasized that security agencies are being continuously empowered to flush out the perpetrators from their hideouts and restore absolute peace to the affected areas.
“Despite the deliberate efforts of these criminals to create an atmosphere of fear and panic among our people, Nigeria will not succumb to the ploys of those bent on making life difficult for the citizens,” Meseko stated.
The APC spokesperson praised the resilience of the local communities and assured them that the government is not resting on its oars. He noted that while the current security challenges are deeply regrettable, the strategic measures being deployed by the government will ultimately put a permanent end to the activities of bandits and terrorists in Kogi State.
Meseko concluded by urging members of the public to remain vigilant and to cooperate fully with security agencies by providing timely and actionable information that could help prevent future occurrences.
