…N500m allgedly squandered on two previous committees
Peoples Democratic party National Youth Frontier (PDPNYF) has disagreed with Kogi state government on the recently inaugurated 32-member committee to review workers declared “ghost”.
PDPNYF coordinator, Comrade Ausin Okai, said the “committee is over bloated and filled with people with no and low integrity.
“It is a waste of public funds as the previous exercises gulped 500million Naira from the coffers of the state government and tax payers money”, he added.
Okai called for the immediate dissolution of the new committee as it is composed of people without integrity,‎ political jobbers, and impersonators which is all geared towards compensating supporters of the state government.
He alleged that the state government is insincere with the new committee.
“The inept government went as far as ASCON to pick members of the committee and retaining same members that have messed up the past verification exercise by downsizing and declaring bonafide civil servants ‘ghost workers’.
PDPNYF counseled Kogi state civil servants and the entire citizenry not to expect any improvement from the two previous exercises as the intention of the government is “preconceived, pre-arrangement, pre-determined ‎and aimed at downsizing the state workforce at all costs”.
“The over half a billion Naira expended on honorarium for the members of the committees could have gone along way in resolving the salary impasse”, he lamented.
“Governor Bello is busy buying time through committees and opening up jobs for the ‘boys’. The confusion created by declaring some workers as ghosts will linger for a longer time to come”
“The confusion Yahaya Bello has created in Kogi polity will take toll on the state in the next decade, even after his exit‎”
He assured the civil servants of his continuous agitation to ensure their entitlements is not siphoned by Gov. Yahaya Bello and his group, saying he has signed contract to protect the denied ones in Kogi and the entire country.
