Smarter Grid International (SGI) has announced her partnership with the Little Miss Nigeria Project (LMNP) the organizer of Little Miss Nigeria Children pageant.
In a letter sent to the management of Little Miss Nigeria, the General Manager of Smarter Grid International Ltd, Mr. Noah Lawal stated that after a careful deliberation on the benefits of partnering with the Little Miss Nigeria Project, they are pleased to announce the partnership between SGI and LMNP.
According to Mr Lawal, SGI is involved in several programs, and has a product called Little Miss Sunshine which shares values with the Little Miss Nigeria Project.
“Our Little Miss Sunshine product, among our several products, is a Solar Home System (SHS) that is carefully and particularly designed to meet the lighting need of rural families that are living below the poverty line.
There are many children of these families that are out of school due to financial constraints. The Little Miss Sunshine Project aims to give these families sustainable, affordable and reliable electricity, which will by extension make them save money from the purchase of fossil fuel for their lantern and firewood and payment of hospital bills due to illness from fumes coming out of these lanterns and firewood. Money saved from the usage of our SHS will then be channeled towards sending these children, who were hitherto on the streets, to school.”
“We are excited that the current Little Miss Nigeria will be the Brand Ambassador for the Little Miss Sunshine Project; we look forward to a robust partnership,” Mr. Lawal said.
In his part, the Executive Director, Little Miss Nigeria Project, Mr Olanrewaju Rotimi express excitement over the partnership.
In his remark, he said that the Little Miss Nigeria Project (LMNP) is established as a process for education and confidence building in young children. The process includes competition to select candidate for campaign against child abuse, kidnapping, molestation; promoting organization and socialization skills in children and presenting the pageant as a fund raising platform to support the less privilege and children orphaned by violence in Nigeria.
“Having the current Little Miss Nigeria as the Brand Ambassador of the SGI’s Little Miss Sunshine Project which is aimed at lightening up rural communities in Nigeria align perfectly with the pet project of the queen tagged CHILD Street-To-School Campaign designed to reduce the rising child out-of-school population in Nigeria,” Mr Rotimi expressed.
