The administrator of Lokoja Local Government area, Hon Shiru Lawal, has commended the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello’s education policy.
Shiru made the commendations in Lokoja while flagging the Back to School program initiated by the wife of the Governor, Mrs Rashidat Bello.
He explained that the programme which is targeted at child education, is aimed at child provision of accessible and qualitative education to the pupils irrespective of status and background of their parents.
Hon Shiru stated further that one of the cardinal programs of the present administration include education, stressing further that apart from the school feeding programme, the administration also undertook the renovations and construction of model schools across the state in it commitments to education.
He described education as the life wire of a nation needed to transform the society politically and advance it technologically, and with the kind of attention His Excellency is giving it, no doubt the prosperity of our children and by extension the state is guaranteed”.
He appealed to Kogites particularly the people of Lokoja Local Government Area,on the need to support the New Direction Administration policies and programmes,especially on the provision of qualitative education.
The ceremony was attended by politicians and political office holders from the area and a host of other.
Highlights of the occasion include the presentation of educational materials to the pupils by the wife of the Governor, Hajiya Rashidat Bello.
