Senator Provide N100m Empowerment, Over N150m on Boreholes Across 5 LGAs in Kogi Central

There was joy in Okene, Kogi State on weekend when over 400 people benefited from the N100 million mini  empowerment programme of Senator Ahmed Salau Ogembe (PDP) representing Central Senatorial District of the state.

Flagging off the programme, the provider of the empowerment program, Senator Ahmed Ogembe  said apart from the mini empowerment program, he had also spent N150 million sinking borehole across the senatorial axis.

Ogembe said within one year in office, he has provided six brand new  transformers to boost power supply in the district, stressed that he is not unaware of the suffering of the people as a result of the current economic recession.

He disclosed that 200 women and youths in the area had been trained in small and medium scale empowerment with start up capital provided for them to enable them start small businesses that will assist them to carter for their immediate family and reduce untold hardship.

The empowerment programe also featured the distribution of 40 Tricycles, 60 Grinding machine, 40 Motorcycles, 150 Sewing machine and 45 Generators.

While appreciating the support given to him by the electorates in the districts, Ogembe  assured that more empowerment programmes are on the way to enable him fulfilled his electioneering campaign promises.

Earlier, the state chairman of the People Democratic Party, PDP, Engr. Sam Ohuotu, commended the lawmaker for empowering the people that gave him the mandate, called on the people not to renege in their support for the party assuring that with commitment the party shall bounce back in 2019.

He likewise charged the recipients of the empowerment programme to use the items in a way that will give good image to the party.
