In continuation of his human capital development across the five Local Government Areas of his constituency, Kogi Central Senator and Chairman, Senate Committee on Information and Communication Technology/ Cybercrime, Senator Yakubu Oseni has assembled a set of another 70 of his constituents for a five-day capacity building on digital literacy.
Facilitated through Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy in conjunction with National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), the five-day programme which began today at the Federal College of Education (FCE) Okene, was also meant to enlighten the selected artisans on phone repairs and how to leverage on digital technology for self-reliance.
The lawmaker who has been uniquely impacting on his constituents was of the opinion that digital literacy and modern skill acquisition are of utmost importance in dynamic world of digital technology where virtually all aspects of human life is linked to the internet
While emphasising on the importance of the training, Senator Oseni submitted that “there is inherent need to breed professionals that will provide technical services and support for digital gadgets which add values to our daily lives. I am excited that I have in abundance, able young men and women who are already digitally-inclined in my constituency. So, this programme is merely meant to broaden their horizon and maximize their intellect on phone repairs and other digital devices”
Senator Oseni who appreciated the Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy and NITDA for timely execution of the training, further assured his constituents of his sustained effort to attract more federal presence to his constituency.
At the end of the training as usual, beneficiaries will be given start up kits and other items that will enhance their operations.
