Senator Oseni Begins Construction of 600 Capacity JAMB CBT Centre in Kogi Central

Senator Yakubu Oseni (APC/Kogi Central), on Saturday, commenced the construction of a 600-capacity JAMB computer based test (CBT) centre in Agassa community.

Represented by the chairman of Kogi Central Elders Advisory Council, Alhaji Yahaya Karaku, the lawmaker noted that the project which is expected to be completed in December would serve students seeking admission into various tertiary institutions.

Senator Oseni, who had in a statement reiterated his commitment to providing necessary facilities to ease learning in educational institutions across his constituency, revealed that he had earlier listened to complaints emanating from difficulties in writing CBT examinations among youths of the area.

“We are aware of some of the difficulties our youths encounter in writing CBT while seeking admission in various tertiary institutions in this country. We sometimes ago embarked on assessments of this issue and came out with some practical steps to solve it, by establishing a well-equipped, world class CBT which is one of the immediate solutions to addressing it.

“Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, I am happy to use this medium to announce to you that today, we have done ground breaking ceremony for building of JAMB CBT Centre. The 600 capacity CBT centre which is expected to be completed in December, 2021 is being executed by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and will serve the entire Kogi State students when it is commissioned,” he said.

Senator Oseni, however, clarified that though the CBT Centre is located at Agassa community in Okene LGA, the project would serve the entire people of the state when commissioned before the end of the year.

According to the lawmaker, the world class CBT centre which has been appropriately registered with Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) would have all necessary facilities required for a hitch free examination conduct.

He appreciated his constituents for their enduring patience and prayer, just as he promised not to waver in his quest to ensure provision of infrastructures that would have lasting positive impacts on his people especially the youths.
