The Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, on Wednesday, inaugurated members of the Kogi State Senior Secondary Education Board (KGSSEB).
During the inauguration, Hon. Wemi Jones expressed his appreciation to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his commitment to the education sector.
He also commended the Board Chairman, Dr. Habiba Suleiman, for her efforts in restructuring and restoring sanity to public and private secondary schools in the state.
He emphasized that the inauguration of board members was to ensure the smooth functioning of the KGSSEB.
Addressing the nominees from various MDAs, he clarified that the newly established KGSSEB has officially replaced STETSCOM, following the enactment of the law in 2024.
He urged all board members to work in unity and collaborate effectively with the Executive Chairman to achieve the Board’s objectives and contribute positively to the state’s education sector.
Hon. Wemi Jones further assured the Board of his unwavering support, stating that his office remains open for consultations and progressive ideas aimed at advancing secondary education in Kogi State.
Speaking on behalf of the newly inaugurated Board, the Executive Chairman, Dr. Habiba Suleiman, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to serve.
She reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to upholding excellence, transparency, and innovation in the administration of secondary education under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the guidance of the Commissioner for Education.
She assured that the Board would work diligently to make a meaningful impact on the education system in the state.
