Senator Ohere’s strength of character remains one of the greatest assets Kogi Central can still harness for true and measurable progress. His leadership journey under the administration of His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello offers a clear record of impact, compassion, and transformational governance.
As Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs from 2016 to 2020, he distinguished himself with unmatched humanitarian outreach—empowering countless individuals with cars, motorcycles, and business support; sponsoring many for the holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia for Hajj; and extending philanthropic assistance through educational interventions, healthcare support, and empowerment for women in small businesses. He strengthened the traditional institution, ensured rightful upgrades where deserving, and promoted peaceful coexistence across communities. His leadership at the grassroots was not theoretical—it was practical, people-centered, and deeply felt.
During Alhaji Yahaya Bello’s second tenure (2020–2024), Senator Ohere served as Commissioner for Works and Housing, a period marked by wide-reaching infrastructure development across Kogi State. Roads, bridges, housing interventions, and structural improvements in many communities bore testimony to his capability and technical discipline.
Beyond the projects, he remained steadfast in supporting youths and women to access better opportunities, jobs, and pathways to greener pastures. His compassion for people, his ability to unite diverse interests, and his unwavering belief in public service continued to shine throughout this phase. His brief but remarkably impactful time in the Senate further cemented his reputation as a leader focused on quality representation, proving what he can accomplish when entrusted with wider responsibility.
Calling on him to return as Senator in 2027 is not just a political sentiment—it is a collective aspiration rooted in evidence, experience, and trust. Senator Ohere has demonstrated capacity, empathy, vision, and results. At a time when Kogi Central needs credible and development-driven representation, he stands out as the tested option with a proven track record.
Therefore, we respectfully call on His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello, our father and leader, and His Excellency Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, the people’s governor, to listen to the voice of the Ebira people as they collectively yearn for Senator Ohere’s return in 2027. The people speak with one voice because the record speaks for itself.
