Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has paid tribute to the late Dr. Tom Adaba, a renowned media icon and the first Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission.

In a statement on Saturday, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan described Adaba’s passing as a great loss, not only to his family and loved ones but to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

She praised Adaba for his wisdom, integrity, and dedication to Nigeria’s growth, highlighting his pioneering role in shaping modern broadcasting in Nigeria.

The senator also remembered Adaba’s kindness, compassion, and generosity, which touched countless lives.

“I am deeply saddened by the passing of our elder statesman and father Dr. Thomas Aaze Adaba, who was a distinguished broadcaster, a true patriot, and an exceptional leader whose contributions to Nigeria’s media landscape will never be forgotten.

“Dr. Adaba was a man of wisdom, integrity, and unwavering dedication to the growth of our nation. His pioneering role in shaping modern broadcasting in Nigeria set a standard of excellence that continues to inspire generations. Beyond his professional achievements, he was a kind and compassionate soul who touched countless lives with his generosity and mentorship.

“His loss is a great one, not only to his family and loved ones but to all who had the privilege of knowing him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. May God grant them the strength to bear this irreparable loss, and may his soul rest in perfect peace. Adieu, a great icon. Your legacy lives on,” she said.

The late media icon, Tom Adaba died on Saturday at the age of 83.
