The recent public criticism by an unknown perpetrator, directed at Asiwaju Prince Olatunji Olusoji is both unnecessary and counterproductive to the Okun cause.
Asiwaju Olusoji is a respected son of Okunland whose contributions to the political and socio-economic advancement of our people are well known. He has consistently engaged in issues affecting Okun, built bridges across political lines, and provided leadership that prioritizes the long-term interest of our people over short-term noise.
Disagreement is not disloyalty. In a democracy, different opinions strengthen us. What Okun needs at this time is not the vilification of leaders who offer alternative perspectives, but the maturity to debate ideas, build consensus, and develop a clear political strategy.
The pursuit of the Kogi State governorship is a legitimate aspiration for Okun people. However, aspiration must be matched with strategy, unity, negotiation, and coalition-building. Shouting slogans or attacking fellow Okun sons who analyze the political terrain differently will not deliver victory. What will deliver victory is organization, credibility, and collective work.
We therefore call on all stakeholders to desist from personal attacks and instead focus on mobilizing our people, strengthening our political structures, and engaging other zones with respect and wisdom.
Okunland is greater than any one election cycle, any one individual, or any one opinion. Our strength lies in our unity of purpose, not uniformity of thought.
Asiwaju Prince Olatunji Olusoji remains an asset to Okun. He deserves to be engaged with respect, not subjected to blackmail or ridicule for expressing his views.
Let us rise above pettiness. Let ideas compete. Let strategy lead. And let the people decide.
