Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has extended her heartfelt condolences to the families of the five students who lost their lives in the Felele auto crash on Monday.

“My heart goes out to you in this darkest of moments. No words can adequately capture the pain and grief that comes with losing a loved one, and I can only imagine the devastation that you must be feeling right now.

May the memories of your loved ones be a blessing to you, and may their young lives not be lost in vain. I share in your pain and sorrow, and I pray that God will grant you all the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” she stated.

The lawmaker, who represents Kogi central senatorial district, also commiserated with the management of Federal University Lokoja, mourning the loss of the promising students whose lives were cut short.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan urged the federal government and relevant authorities to find a lasting solution to the recurring road accidents along the Felele axis in Lokoja, which has become a deadly hotspot for students.

She emphasised that educational institutions should be safe havens for all students, and no student deserves to die in such a manner.

Sen Akpoti-Uduaghan pledged to provide necessary support and continue to advocate for the federal government to expand the road and regulate truck traffic, ensuring an end to the incessant loss of life along that route.
