To me it still seems like a tragic happening of yesterday, I can still recall the shocks, devastation and the sorrowful mood myself and the entire family were thrown into when the info got to us about the fatal road accident which claimed the life of a man we all love and never wanting to loose.

I was touched the more most especially when I recapitulated upon alot we discussed and planned together that never saw the light of the day. My dad was a man of huge dreams of which to God be the glory he was lucky to be able to achieve alot during his life time.

His days as a civil servant and his life as a politician are moments I have been emulating because they are worth it. My father was one man who amongst many never gives up on a just course, his sense of consistency, resilience, fearlessness, logical and diplomatic handlings of issues are amongst the various ingredients that spur him to what he became in life.

I want to use this opportunity to thank his followers and  supporters while he was alive and till date for the true love they’ve shown him and we his family after his demise. A good example is the support they gave to me his son to ensure AT Ahmed political history does not go down the rail by trooping out en masse to vote me during the last election of Kogi state House of Assembly of which today I am the member representing Okene 1 state constituency.

I want to also say that the legacy of my father upon which I rely upon to be where I am today, shall suffer no damage by myself, it’s pertinent to note that I have vowed to build more on the name, indeed the shoe I have stepped into is a big one but God’s willing I shall take my time to walk gently with it.

Finally, on behalf of myself and family, I say a big thank you to our well wishers as today we mark the 10th year anniversary of my own Hero, mentor, philanthropist and a political icon to many.

Thank you very much…

Hon. Lawi AT Ahmed
Member Representing Okene 1 constituency,

Kogi State House of Assembly.
