Players and officials of Nigeria National League side, Kogi United have been asked to go on a week-long break to celebrate the Eid el Kabir celebrations with their loved ones.

According to a statement signed by the chairman of the Lokoja based club, Mallam Abdul Adama, the players are expected back in training on Tuesday, 7th of September.

“We have allowed them to enjoy the moment with their families, we hope they will come back better in good frame of mind in readiness ahead of next challenges,” Adama said.

The NNL board had earlier announced a two weeks suspension of the league to allow various protest cases filed by different clubs to be determined by the Disciplinary Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation.

Kogi United are currently 5th on the NNL Group A table with 43 points.

The Abdul Biffo led team will be taking on Niger Tornadoes when the league resumes.
