I heartily congratulate His Royal Majesty, the Agbana of Isanlu land, Oba Moses Babatunde Etombi, on his peaceful ascension to his father’s throne. Kabiesi, may your reign be long. May your era be peaceful and usher in immense blessings to your immediate Kingdom and the neighbouring towns and villages.

Your official coronation is at hand. I wish his Royal Majesty a successful celebration.

Since your ascension to his honorable throne, Isanlu is proud of your efforts in making the Kingdom an enviable one. It is my prayer that all your efforts will be crowned with success.

Like Oliver Twist, I want to demand your urgent intervention in our road traffic in Isanlu town. Please save our lives.

Your Royal Majesty, you would observe that from Ayetoro Gbede to Ejiba, Isanlu metropolis has the best tarred road. This makes every commuter passing through the land and those within the town to speed recklessly.

In the last five years, I can authoritatively say that the community has lost well over 100 souls to road accident within the town. Many are injured, maimed and paralysed. Many are still in the hospitals. The major victims are okada riders. They collide with themselves and many times hit by cars and trailers. Many are hit and run.

Your majesty, death is beyond human control but attimes many can be averted by quick interventions with policies and actions.

Your Majesty, I will advise the town to construct bumps on the highway to reduce the speed. I have presented this advise before your ascension but it rejected because we are on federal highways.

Also, the okada riders and drivers union should be invited to have mount about seven traffic men to monitor traffic on the township road. The police and vigilante group can be drafted to monitor traffic on our roads instead of mounting road blocks at the entrances of the community.

We are ready to be taxed to keep these officers on road both day and night. With regular monitoring of the road, the cooperation of the community and unions, the carnage on our road will be minimized especially during this yuletide period.

Thank you Sir and wishing Isanlu land a peaceful coronation.

– Hon. Elesho Joseph writes from Isanlu, Kogi State.
