Nigeria Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), Kogi state chapter, has expressed gratitude to Governor Usman Ododo for his approval and prompt implementation of revised Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) for its members working in the state civil service.
The association said the gesture underscores Gov. Ododo’s unwavering commitment to to the welfare of Kogi state workers and his recognition of the pivotal role the veterinary profession plays in the state’s economic prosperity.
Chairman, Nigeria Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), Kogi state chapter, Dr Tolu Omotugba, made this known during a press conference in Lokoja on Wednesday.
“This approval has motivated us to carry out our duties with renewed enthusiasm and the highest level of dedication,” he said.
NVMA called for the establishment of Ministry of Livestock Development in Kogi state and urged Governor Usman Ododo to consider the appointment of a credible veterinarian as Commissioner when the proposed ministry is created.
The association, however, urged Gov. Ododo to utilize his esteemed office to ensure the prompt payment of the accumulated arrears since the salary structure’s implementation in January, 2021.
“We encourage His Excellency to continue with the exemplary work he has initiated in Kogi State while the civil servants prepare to lead his re-election campaign in 2027.”
