The Member Representing Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali Halims has been honoured with an award of excellent service by the Igala Cultural Development Association (ICDA) of Gbessa.
The lawmaker received the award as part of the activities to mark the coronation ceremony of Chief Abdulkareem Amodu(AK) as the ICDA President of Gbessa, Kuje Local Government Area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The award recipient who doubled as the chief launcher of a special fund raising for the building of Igala Community Hall in Gbessa, Airport Road, Abuja, also donated five hundred thousand Naira as his initial commitment to the project.
Earlier in his response to the award, Rep. Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali Halims thanked the association for finding him worthy of such recognition and vowed not to relent in delivering on the mandate popularly given to him by the people of Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro federal constituency.
He further advised Igala sons and daughters to desist from all activities that are against the norms and values of Igala heritage, assuring the association of his readiness to work closely with her at all times in so far as the ventures are morally sound and within the ambit of law.
Highlight of the cultural ceremony was interlude of masquerade shows and a musical display by the Igala magical voice cum Ankpa foremost singer, Alhaji Tenimu Foreign to add glamor to the event.
