Kogi State Hajj Commission said that it has concluded arrangements to refund the excess payment made by intending pilgrims as a result of the reduction in Hajj fare announced by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

According to the Commission, the affected pilgrims would be contacted through telephone calls once their cheques are ready, saying that there is no cause for alarm.

In a statement signed by the commission’s Public Relations Officer, Isah Abdulrahman, said that the Commission  has made all necessary arrangements for a hitch free Hajj Operation 2019, saying that 70% of the Visa for pilgrims have been processed.

He maintained that with the completion of registration, enlightenment campaign, medical screening and the distribution of traveling items to intending pilgrims, all is now set for the 2019 Hajj exercise once the date for the airlift of pilgrims for the state is announced by NAHCON.

According to the Commission, intending pilgrims with unmanageable health challenges and pregnant women have been denied issuance of traveling materials, suggesting that such persons may not be allowed to embarked on the journey.

He called on  those who missed the first medical screening and inoculation now have an opportunity to do so on 1st July, 2019 by 9.00am, saying that there would not be any further extension.

The statement added that, as a result of the reforms introduced by the Sheikh Luqman Imam Abdullahi led management of the Commission, it was adjudged by NAHCON as one of the best performed Commission in Hajj exercise.

He said that NAHCON  adjudged the kogi Hajj Commission as the  best in innovative ideas and most outstanding in the handling of Hajj Operation.

Recall that the Independent Hajj Reporters had earlier this year conferred similar award on the Kogi state Hajj commission for it’s outstanding performance in the 2018 Hajj Operation.
