Professional tribal bigot, Maji Isah in his divisive article titled “Why Igalas want Yahaya Bello out”, had first appointed himself as spokesman-General for the Igala race, also arrogating to himself the power to see through the minds of all Igalas to understand what and how they see Governor Yahaya Bello. He has also called judgement for all Igalas without consultation. To insult the intelligence of the over Six  (6) ethnic nationalities living and co-owning Kogi State, Maji Isah has made it look like only Igalas have the power to determine who becomes the Governor of Kogi State.

Is Maji Isah more Igala than the father of Igalas, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Ameh Michael Idakwo II, who not openly sent emissaries to the Kogi State Government House to endorse Governor Yahaya Bello less than 60 days ago, but led the Traditional Council of Chiefs in Kogi State to the Presidency to endorse Governor Yahaya Bello for a second term in office?

Who is more Igala than Gov. Bello who unbanned, revived and restored some Igala festivals which was banned for over 63 years by colonial masters, hitherto overlooked by Igala Governors (3) until the 4th Executive Governor of the state lifted the cultural festivals?

Who cares for the Igalas more than the Gov. Bello that completed the age long abandoned Ankpa Township road? The Okpo-Ibana-Ikeje-Ogugu-Etteh road that links over 7 frontline communities in Igala land is in advanced stage of completion. The Umomi-Idah road is in advanced stage of completion from years of neglitude of Igala Governors who have ruled the state. He took this gesture to the renovation of the Ata Igala’s Palace. Same Governor Yahaya Bello stepped down electricity to Odu, the village of one of the former Igala Governors who served under PDP, a party that Maji Isah has devoted his entire life to.

It is still Governor Yahaya Bello who has earmarked the sum of 1.5B in the budget to power the entire Kogi East which on July 6th, 2019, he inaugurated the committee that would see to the lighting up of over 100 Igala communities which is about 90% of Igala land, in most communities, they have never seen light since the inception of Kogi State even after three Igala Governors have ruled the state.

The same Gov Bello cited a 100,000 hectares of Palm plantations and Modular processing plants to harness the same palm in Kogi East. Why did he not take it elsewhere? On July 6th, Ata of Igala, in his speech during the Ccommissioning of the Igala Unity house revealed while extolling Governor Bello on how the young Governor has approved the setting up of two Cashew processing plants in Igala kingdom since Kogi East and Kogi State is the highest producers of the Cashew in Nigeria.

Tribal bigots and ethnic jingoists like Maji Isah cannot just stomach the reality that a non Igala is ruling a state whom he has ascribed as a birthright of one group. He cannot stomach the detrabilized leadership acumen of Governor Bello who can choose another tribe, an Igala man as his most trusted confidant in Government for the powerful Chief of Staff position. They are many types of Maji Isah who cannot only stomach the reality of his detribalized nature, they also loathe the fact that he is not a religious bigot who made the Government House a prayer ground for just one religion. The reality that Governor Yahaya Bello has approved the construction of the Kogi Government House Chapel for the Christians is biting and eating into the soul of tribal and religious bigots in the state.

Aside from pulling a state left for dead, Governor Bello is the archetypal Leadership coin needed to solve the major problem of Nigeria which lies in ethnic mistrust and religious bigotism, practically he has arrested this menace in Kogi State.

Why should Igalas that are not from the fictional imagination of Maji Isah want Governor Bello out when he is the only Governor who has armed the youths beyond thuggery into prominence of injecting young people into his cabinet, those who were in the past  Election Special Utility Vehicles to cause havoc and social pandemonium through vices of thuggery, cultism and banditry? Can Maji Isah list any territorial thug who is famous like the days of Salisu Rambo, Ogu Aranka, Makamas,  Zekeri Yau and co?

Why would Igalas that are not from the family of Maji Isah reject Gov Bello who politically elevated the fortunes of two prominent Igala stars to the national level; Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho, Senator representing Kogi East and Hajia Salamatu Baiwa Eluma, APC’s National women leader?

Why should Igalas reject Governor Bello who collapsed repressive and oppressive family cartels who have held the soul of Kogi spellbound to underdevelopment and system of Family Government that does not favour the Igala race? Are Igalas fools? The sons of those who have ruled the state in the past are still those gearing up with intent forms to contest for power step-down into their family as if it is their family business or birthright, is that how Igala should reject Governor Yahaya Bello?

Who is also more Igala than Bello whose Government mobilized appointees, friends of government and other Kogi indigene, arrow-headed by his political strategist and Chief of Staff to the Government, Hon. Edward Onoja who saw to the completion of the Igala Unity House in the same Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area where Maji Isah lives and writes his ethnic divisive articles from.

Besides the point that Maji Isah has been known as a political-groomie of the successfully failed Peoples Democratic Party’s leadership in Kogi State for the past 13 years, he has been a political hustler who starts and ends his politics from Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area of the state. One may wonder if he tries to reflect the minds of himself, wife and child as the mind of the entire Igala nation.

In his divisive article, he opined that the first democratically elected Governor of The state, late Prince Abubakar Audu was voted out of power because he offended the Civil servants in the state by downsizing the workforce accompanied with issues of non salary payment.

The truth-from-behind narrative from Maji Isah is at best an acrobatic on history. The election that ousted late Audu has been adjudged as the greatest electoral fraud in the history of Kogi State. The “Maurice Iwu” type of INEC according to various sources was used to write results as against the victories recorded by Audu in all the elections he contested. Sadly, like the merchant of Egyptian slavery are doing to Governor Bello today, they hung late Audu on the pull-him-down syndrome which has kept the Igala race under perpetual underdevelopment.

Under Governor Yahaya Bello, Igalas have fared better, if not, what is the legacy of Governance Igala Governors left for Governor Yahaya Bello to inherit other than backlog of salaries which they are trying to exonerate themselves today through the lies of pen-merchants like Maji Isah who also double as tribalist of divisive tendencies.

This message should go to Maji Isah and his co-travelers: Igalas cannot reject Governor Yahaya Bello through the mouth of Maji Isah, even the writer of this rebuttal is an Igala man, he has not rejected Governor Bello who put a borehole in his community for his people to drink, an asphalt road to link many communities in his local government for socio-economic development.

Infact, Bello’s leadership testimonial is that destined for the national stage because of his ability to have united Kogi State in the cesspool of ethnic strife and religious divides, however, for divinity to be satisfied, God has destined him to complete his second term representing not just the Igalas but the Ebiras, Okuns, Bassas, Oworros, Kakandians and other ethnic groups in Kogi State using the unifying prism of the EbIgO concept.
