Who really is this Yahaya Audu.
The call of Prince Abubakar Audu of blessed memory by the supreme omniscient while he was cruising to victory in the 2015 Gubernatorial election in Kogi state alongside his deputy Hon James Abiodun Faleke certainly became a turning point in the political calculation of the state and the electoral laws of the federal republic of Nigeria.
The aftermath events will remain indelible in the hearts of the members of Prince Audu political family and the people who care about the role of history in their life.
The formidable and principled team known as Prince Audu political family came in to existence during the NRC/SDP era which was the Late leaders first shot at the politics of kogi state of which he was supported overwhelmingly by the people through their votes.
It is worthy of note that despite the success of that political family, various events have at different times seen some politicians of High pedigree abandon the political family to another because of disagreement in principle.
On the other hand, politicians with the capability of soaring high have also walked in to the fold of Prince Audu political family from other groups because of possible disagreement in principle with other team mates.
In a nutshell its always been a win -win situation irrespective of what happens at anytime.
Having said that, it is therefore safe to say, the Abubakar Audu political family exceeds the immediate family of our late leader of blessed memory , The people whom have remained unchanged in thier belief in the principles Abubakar Audu of blessed memory lived for, have remained together and have kept their relationship intact.
The membership of this political family cuts across the East, West and Central of our dear state and beyond. No wonder Hon James Abiodun Faleke was overwhelmingly supported to inherit the votes he alongside his principal got from the massive support of Kogites during the election that was eventually awarded to Yahaya Bello by the APC.
It is on record that the late Prince Abubakar Audu had always introduced His Royal Highness Alhaji Tijjani Audu the Orego Attah and paramount ruler of Ogbonicha as his brother and mouthpiece of his siblings.
It is of great importance to note that Hon Duro Meseko has been the official and recognised speaker or media person for the Audu political family since the unfortunate incident that led to the emergence of the current Government in Kogi state.
There was a statement in kogi reports of 20th June 2018 in which one Prince Yahaya Audu was quoted as calling on Governor Yahaya Bello to embrace Audu Political family.
The statement got many of us confused and worried because we have not as members of this political family at anytime had any meeting with Yahaya Audu nor have we made any overtures to Bello or any of his associate directly or indirectly or in any form with an intention of being embraced directly or indirectly.
During all our political struggles, the said Yahaya Audu was never with us in person or by proxy nor was he ever mentioned to us by our Late leader to act for us in any capacity.
I am most certain that its not Prince Audu’s will.
I am not saying that the said Yahaya Audu can not speak for Audu’s immediate family if they so desire to choose him over the revered, respected and well known paramount Ruler of Ogbonicha, His Royal highness the Arego Attah .
As for the Abubakar Audu political family, which I am a bonafide member, I make bold to say the so called Yahaya Audu does not have that capacity or authority to speak for us as he is not known to us.
His appeal or call on governor Yahaya bello is his personal view and we do not in anyway identify or support his view.
May God bless the Abubakar Audu political family and may he continue to have mercy on the soul of Prince Abubakar Audu.
