Our attention has been drawn to a campaign of calumny by a faceless organization named Kogi East APC Youth Front of All Progressive Congress on a topic “Prince Abubakar Audu candidature and Ebira Question” This piece was contained on page 50 of the Nation Newspaper, 25th Oct., 2015.
We read with profound dismay the array of falsehood and calculated lies deliberately put together by this faceless individuals whose aim is to destroy the existing bonds and cordial relationship among the good people of the Kogi Central and also between our people and Prince Abubakar Audu, the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress.
The paid article was laden with self serving lies and falsehood that were clothed in the garments of populism just to deceive the undiscerning public about the true position of our dear party. It is obvious from the contents and the language deployed that the writers are not members of APC. We make bold to say that no loyal and committed members of our party will sponsor such divisive and mischievous hate laden article masquerading and concealing their real motive.
It is totally untrue that “a section of our party members acting ethnic scripts that are trying to pull back a moving train. The Ebiras of the Central Senatorial District is deviously scheming under a diverse agenda to reverse all the advantages of our great party in the state.” This statement is unfortunate, divisive, tendecious and totally false. As a matter of fact, many notable Ebiras have contributed profoundly to the major successes that the Audu campaign have recorded after the primary.
The contributions of prominent Ebira indigenes like Senator M. S. Ohiare, Senator Salihu Ohize, Rt. Hon Abdullahi Bello, Hon Kabiru Ajanah, Hon lawal, Prof. Olu Akerejola, Hon mohammed Sadiq, Alhaji Haddi Ametou, myself, Chief Ozovehe, Chief Vincent Ayedun, and others were deliberately glossed over by these individuals who are turning history upside down just to fulfill the mission of their pay masters.
We wish to state without any iota of misgiving that ethnic question is a normal integral part of any functional Federal system and Ebira agenda is not an exception. In Nigeria today we have major ethnic groups that are agitating for equitable distribution of the commonwealth, justice and fair play in our polity.
So, we regard the Ebira agenda as a good and necessary desire by the good people of the Kogi Central. And our party has the necessary inbuilt mechanisms to accommodate and manage diverse ethnic agenda of the groups that make up the state. The party will not only effectively manage these agitations but also ensure they are achieved. So it amounts to a total blackmail to conclude that the people of the Central have not been at ease since after the APC gubernatorial primary election as we have since put the result of the election behind us and have put together an all inclusive formidable team that is capable of delivering the Central constituency for the APC.
Our commitment to the APC has been well established even before the emergence of Prince Abubakar Audu and we have resolved to remain steadfast in our determination to install an APC governor in the forthcoming governorship Election. We hereby disassociate ourselves from the article under reference and also condemn in its entirety the contents. It does not reflect the vision and desires of the APC leadership in Kogi State.
Long live Kogi State!
Long live Kogi APC!
