My able Honourable! I respect your leadership; I respect your humility; I respect your level of transparency and I respect your accessibility. I have made this much respect public and I’m sure you don’t doubt my claim in this regard.
However, the test of loyalty is a sour soup all politicians must take at one point or another. While you were struggling to have your first term as Rep in 2010, Dino Melaiye’s loyalty to the PDP was tested! I remember the general notion about how those 6 votes was obtained in your favour against Dino in the PDP primaries and you were given the ticket as a fair agreement had to be honoured, which meant to many, either by hook or crook.
Agreements were honored. You were elected. Dino FAILED the test of loyalty WOEFULLY! He moved on to different parties.
Your second term in the House of Representatives remained a slap on the same agreement you benefited from, in a manner that many watchers considered an assault on democratic principles, but they were willing to and indeed let go, because, at least, it satisfied the cause of fulfilling mutual agreement at that time.
Third term? And you still feel your loyalty is been tested? No sir. Your party has over paid your due, as far as the  agreement you benefited from is concerned. Actually, in the face of justice and fairness, the PDP should have allowed you to pursue your ambition and face Dino in senatorial primaries. But the party at the national level chose to honour another agreement made with rAPC.
You can now understand, honourable, how much agreements means to PDP at the national level and how sacred they hold the need to fulfill them! Quite frankly, that’s how inviolable agreements mean to decent, fine people like you.
In that spirit, I would want you to know that taking a honorable position even in the face of what you inaccurately deem “tested loyalty” is far higher than assuming the office of Honourable Member; knowing that after 8 years in place of 4, it is the loyalties of people on whose behalf that agreement was made that is being put to fire brand test!
The operational currency of any relationship is trust. Hon. T. J., please take the path of honour, and do that which is just; that which is fair to all concerned, and that which will be beneficial to all, in the interest of mutual trust upon which the agreement was made!
Ask yourself, Hon: Where would Hon. T. J. be today, if Senator Dino had taken 12 years in the House of Representatives, starting from 2011?
You asked God to lead you aright sir… HE Has!
Galatians 3:15 “Brethren, I speak in the manner of men: Though it is only a man’s covenant, yet if it is confirmed, no one annuls or adds to it”.
Honourable T. J… Psalm 119:105-106 says “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. I have sworn and confirmed that I will keep Your righteous judgments”.
Will you?
