Kogi Patriotic Group has described Governor Yahaya Bello’s decision to re-commission legacy projects of immediate past Kogi state governor as a public endorsement of Capt. Idris Wada’s re-election in 2019.
Spokesperson of the group, Abdul Abdul made this statement while interacting with media men on Tuesday.
Abdul stated that projects like the Kogi Diagnostic and Imaging Centre, KOGROMA heavy duty equipment, Civil Service Commission building and International Modern Motor Park are legacy projects of Capt Wada’s administration.
He said Governor Bello should have also commissioned the Ganaja village/crusher housing estate, Kabawa embankment and the historic Kogi House in Abuja that were nearing completion under the last administration.
“Kogi governor embarked on the destruction of major monuments on resumption, including the portrait of Lord Lugard and major roundabouts constructed with millions of naira under the administration of Capt Wada Idris.
“Governor Yahaya Bello awarded major road projects across the state that was flag off and abandoned without completion in spite of huge funds attracted from the infrastructure and ecological fund.
“Many state workers were denied their monthly salaries and pension, while others were laid off under the guise of wrong engagement and forged results without recourse to due process to ascertain the authenticity of their results.
“Former governor Idris Wada had embarked on major infrastructural drive including human capital development to the betterment of the state and the generality of the people.
“The decision of the current administration to re-commission projects executed and duly commissioned by the last administration is an open endorsement of Wada’s re-election,” he said.
