As the Muslims month of Ramadan begins, the House of Representatives member-elect to represent Ankpa/Omala/Olamaboro federal constituency, Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims has urged Muslims to use the season of Ramadan for deep reflection and spiritual rejuvenation towards greater service to God and the constituency.

In his message to Muslim faithfuls in the constituency and across the nation to herald the month-long Ramadan fast, Halims noted that fasting is a profound religious experience that brings people closer to God. Thus, enjoined Muslims to use the period to re-evaluate their service to God and mankind.

“We must seize this period of Ramadan to rededicate ourselves to the service of God and our communities stressing that beyond abstaining from food and drink, Muslims must resolve to make the greater sacrifice of eschewing vices that slows down unity and progress,” he said.

Hon Halims also admonished Muslims to reflect on and strengthen their relationship with the Almighty Allah, and all men and women of goodwill across the country should pray for the leaders during the fast, adding that the great Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (PBUH), described Ramadan fasting as a period of multiple reward cum prayer’s acceptance.

On a general note, Hon Halims after all urged all Nigerians to advance the frontiers of love and responsibility to one another.
