Assalamu Alaikum,
I heartily felicitate with Nigerian Muslims on the commencement of the Holy month of Ramadan.
I want to use this medium to call on all our Muslim brothers and sisters to use the Ramadan period to pray for Nigeria.
Fasting as one of the five pillars of Islam should not be just a period of abstaining from food and drink, the period should also be used to make greater sacrifice by praying fervently for the country.
Nigeria needs deliverance from poverty, corruption, visionless leaders, wicked leaders and all purveyors of falsehood.
As mere mortals we cannot achieve anything on our own wisdom and strength but with prayers and determination we can collectively overcome our challenges as a country and thereby progress in all areas of our national life, and economic advancement would in no time be realised.
I also want to admonish you to use this period to love one another and make sacrifices for the overall growth and development of our nation.
I wish you all Happy Ramadan. May Allah accept your prayers and answer your supplications. Amin!
