Surely, everything with a beginning has an end and today, 1st January, 2018, the football tournament organised in honor of the member representing Ankpa 2 constituency at the Kogi state house of assembly, Hon Alh Alfa Momoh Rabiu ends amidst cheers and encomium.
The match which commenced at exactly 5.00PM placed Inye on an early lead of a line goal which was sustained till second half before an equalising goal came from Olufofo. The match continued in a draw till a winning but die minute goal came from the Inye side to end the game in a two-one win.
The finals had in attendance friends, supporters and football lovers from different strata of life. Notable among the spectators was a former chairman of Ankpa local government area, Hon Hassan Enape who also doubled as chairman of the occasion. In attendance too were an APC chieftain and former zonal chairman of PDP, Hon Seidu Odoma, Alh Tijani Alfa and Hon AK Odawn.
Others were, the senior special assistant to Kogi state governor on water resources, Hon Danjuma Oando, Ankpa local government APC Chairman, Hon Alhaji Kamilu Abdullahi, Alhaji Tijani Abu, Hon Aliyu Ibrahim, Hon Chief Wodi and others.
Highlight of the final competition was presentation of cups and medals to the first and second side while a cash donation was made to the first, second and third teams.
Earlier in his valedictory remarks, Hon Alh Alfa Momoh Rabiu commended both sides for having played well even as he thanked the organisers for the orderliness he observed in the entire process while Mr Yunusa Costa, head coach of the defeated Olufofo FC thanked the People’s honorable on behalf of the entire teams that took part in the tournament saying football is about win and loss.
