The member representing Ankpa 2 constituency at the Kogi state house of assembly, Hon Alfa Momoh Rabiu who is presently in the Holy land for this year pilgrimage has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of a Kogi Pilgrim from Igalamela/Odolu local government who seized breath while on pilgrimage to the Holy land saying her ending is indeed a great one.

Reacting to her death upon it’s announcement by the chairman of Kogi state hajj and pilgrims welfare commission, the lawmaker pointed out that there is solace in the fact that she died as a believer and in the most blessed land of Islam, Mecca while still answering the call of Allah.

“While I condole with her immediate family, bearing in mind what God says in the Quran(And think not as dead, those who die in my course for they are with me receiving sustenance), my heart is at ease and the only prayer should be for the family to be able to bear the loss.”

The state’s Hajj Commission chairman, Shiekh Lukman Abdullahi Imam yesterday announced the name of the deceased as Hajiya Asmawo Iyawo Abdullahi while giving an update of the Hajj exercise in Makkah, saying the pilgrim died Tuesday morning. “She died after all attempts by our medical team to treat her failed; she was an elderly person and her health deteriorated immediately she arrived the holy land” he said.

While we continue to pray Allah forgives her of all her wrongdoings and grant her Al-Janatul Firdaus, She has since been buried in the city of Makkah and apart from her, all other Kogi pilgrims are in good health. Sheikh Imam thereafter commended the good conduct of the state pilgrims, saying they have really cooperated with the commission.
