Reacting to the landslide victories recorded by All Progressive Congress (APC) at the just concluded November 16th governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa States, Amb. Oladele John Nihi has congratulated Yahaya Bello  and David Lyon.

The Commissioner for Youth Political Participation in Africa, Pan-African Youth Union (PYU) affirmed that the victory recorded in Kogi State is as a result of meaningful youth inclusiveness in the administration of Yahaya Bello and that of Bayelsa State can be tagged to good character influence on the the people.

According to Nihi, the youth of Kogi State has been actively involved in decisions making in the state; with a large fraction of them occupying sensitive positions in the state and making positive impacts in the society.

“I am urging His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello and his Deputy Chief Edward Onoja, to do more in youth inclusion in governance. Even as the duo remains the youngest steering the affairs of a state in Nigeria, I trust them to join on the campaign for youth inclusiveness in governance in Nigeria, through their actions and programs.

“And in Bayelsa State, I must congratulate the people for choosing someone who have their best interest at heart,” Amb. Oladele John Nihi admonished.

Amb. Nihi also urged other state governors to give youths the opportunity of contributing to the development of their state and the country at large, stressing that Nigerian youths have more to offer to the development of the country but an avenue needs to be provided for effective delivery of ideas and meaningful contributions to nation building.

The Youth Commissioner further urges the Governors elect to focus on youth inclusiveness in politics, and adequate human capital development initiatives.
