Project Smile Again Hold Stomach Infrastructure Day in Lokoja

The less privileged children and adults in Lokoja gets food items as ‘Project Smile Again’ (PSA) holds Stomach Infrastructure Day in the confluence city.

The unflinching zest to build a future where the child from the street and less privileged folks has a vision equal to the dream of the child of affluence and stands equal attainment, being shown concern and care for their well-being led to the birth of Project Smile Again. The annual project which started in Benin City in 2014 has also affected lives in the metropolitan city of Lokoja.

On Sunday, 26th November 2017, the PSA Team visited the Cantonment Area of Lokoja to guarantee the less privileged in the locality of free lunch and dinner. Several cartons of noodles were broken into pieces and distributed to the kids who hurriedly filed themselves into a long queue to benefit from the philanthropic gestures of the volunteers.

In a statement by Charles Osagie, the PSA Lead Volunteer, “I am always grateful to God whenever he gives me the strength to pull resources from volunteers, partners and philanthropist simply to meet the desires of those who are desperately in need since 2014. In 2016, we were here to distribute foot wears to the kids who had none. Because we are aware of the economic challenges in the country and believe that these people needs food now than ever. Hence, we swung into action to provide them with the meal today”.

Mr Impact, as fondly called, continuing his statement, expressed delight in the reality of the project, saying it is fulfilling it’s mandate to put smiles on the faces of the less privileged children and adults and more so impacting lives.

“November 26th is my birth date, giving back to the society and reaching out to the less privileged is my favorite way of celebrating it. I so urge other Nigerians to more often create a program in their lives to replicate such gestures, this I’m sure will go a long way in giving a sense of belonging to the less privileged and making the society a better place,” he added.

Some in the entourage of the 2017 Project Smile Again Volunteers were Comrade Aiyelabowo Adebanji Austin the Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor on Youth Empowerment (West), Yeye Omoleye Aiyelabowo the Yeye Oge of Okun Land, Prince Clement who was also celebrating his birthday coincidentally.

It can be recalled that in 2014 and 2015 Project Smile Again visited Lady Abeni Orphanage Home in Benin City, leaving the orphans with an indelible experience of love and care; and the Stella Obasanjo Memorial Hospital, Central Hospital in Benin to help offset the bills of indigent new born babies. This project has recorded so much success through it’s crowd funding strategy.
