Beneficiaries of Federal Government’s Social Intervention Programme, N – Power, from Kogi State have expressed readiness to ensure they take the message of President Muhammadu Buhari’s re – election to every part of the state.
They made public this commitment on Monday when they paid a solidarity visit to the Chief of Staff to the State Governor, Hon Edward Onoja at the Government House, Lokoja.
Speaking, coordinator of Kogi State N – Power Volunteer Campaign Organization for Muhammadu Buhari, Comrade Alfa Momoh described the present administration as the best thing to happen to the country.
He said it would be foolhardy for any right thinking Nigerian to contemplate the return to power of those that have put the country in the difficult situation that Buhari is trying to take the nation out of, and called on Nigerians to reflect on the recent past, prior to the advent of the APC – led government, before making their decision on who to cast their ballots for in next year’s election.
The coordinator said his conviction about the present government was informed by the rationale behind his and fellow beneficiaries’ selection for the N – Power, which noted were without any influence from any quarters.
He recalled the process he had to go through while applying for one similar intervention programme of the immediate past administration which required him to pay huge sum he could not afford to someone which robbed him of the opportunity.
Comrade Momoh equally praised the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello for giving necessary support and backing to the programme in the state which has led to Kogi having the highest number of N -Power beneficiaries in the North Central region of the country.
Several other speakers from the three senatorial districts of the state recalled similar experiences with the N – Power Programme and said they would do all that is necessary to ensure the re – emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Responding, the Chief of Staff, Hon Edward Onoja praised the group for their show of gratitude and resolve to reciprocate government gesture in providing them avenue for employment and lifting them out of the precarious financial situation they were in.
He said the President means well for the country, hence the need for the entire country to back him to return for another term.
Hon Onoja, who urged members of the group to return to their various Local Government Areas and preach the gospel of Buhari to all and sundry, said a vote for the opposition would be an invitation to retrogression from the progress already made.
N – Power Volunteers Campaign Organization for Muhammadu Buhari comprises all beneficiaries of the Social Intervention Programme in the 21 Local Government Areas of Kogi State.
