Son of former acting Governor of Kogi State, Engr. Folorunsho Olafemi has described the commitment and contributions of late Prof. Pius Adesanmi to the growth of Nigeria and Africa as exemplary.
In a condolence message to the late Adesanmi’s family, Folorunsho pledged that the nation will always remain grateful by honouring Prof. Pius’ legacy and memory.
“I commiserate with the Adesanmi family and Okun Nation on the death of our son, father and husband, Prof Pius Adesanmi who died in the Ethiopian Airlines plane crashed on Sunday morning shortly after leaving Addis Ababa for Nairobi in Kenya.
“The commitment and contributions of the late Prof Pius to national unity was exemplified in his over four decades of selfless service to our country. And for this, we will always remain grateful by honouring his legacy and memory.
“At this time in our polity when matured and experienced statesmen are needed to stabilize and calm the turbulent challenges we face, the death of Prof Pius Adesanmi is a big loss to the nation, to the Okun people, to the good people of Isanlu, to Kogi state and of course his immediate family and associates. My prayer is that may the Lord grant him eternal peace and give his family and associates the fortitude to bear the huge loss,” he said.
Olafemi called on young Kogites to emulate Pius Adesanmi’s selflessness, patriotism and commitment to the growth of his community.
