The Zonal Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi East, Hon Ahmed Attah wants those dreaming of a possible victory for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to forget it as the party will be roundly defeated.

Hon Attah gave the assertion during the just held Ward to Ward Rally of the APC which covered all the polling units and wards in the area and Kogi State in general.

The Zonal Chairman said the PDP was no match with the APC in any way given the ruling party’s pedigree, explaining that he decided to use the word; ’roundly’ because the margin would be incontrovertible.

The party chieftain who further noted that while elections are about conviction and securing of public support said the people of the state, especially those of Igala extraction have no reason to back a candidate without pedigree or any antecedent of note added that the area PDP were better than the APC was in the area of propaganda.

“When I say propaganda here, what I mean is the use of blatant lies and unfounded rumours. Away from that, they are no match for the APC. We are on the ground and are keeping in touch with our people on a regular basis so I don’t see how they can defeat us.”

He said the people of Kogi East see in Governor Bello a detribalised leader that does not discriminate against people on the basis of tribe, religion or class because he relates with everyone justly and without bias.

“If not for his unique sense of peace and commitment to the unity of the entire state, this senatorial district would.not have enjoyed the numerous socioeconomic and infrastructural development we currently enjoy.

“One thing that endears him to us aside from the qualities I have highlighted earlier is that he is development focused. His concern is about equitable distribution of state resources to all parts of the state and such a leader is one that deserves our overwhelming support.”

He, therefore, called on Igala sons and daughters and people of the state to continue to support the present administration in order to provide more dividends of democracy.
