The House of Representative candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Bassa/Dekina federal constituency, Comrade Usman Okai Austin has charged residents who recently registered for their permanent voter cards (PVCs) to endeavour to collect it before closing date announced by the electoral umpire.

Okai, in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Lokoja, urged registered voters to visit the INEC offices across the local government areas of the state to get their cards so they exercise their franchise during the 2023 general elections.

He also admonished residents in the state to eschew all forms of violence before, during and after the elections to ensure that credible leaders are voted into office.

“INEC commenced the distribution of permanent voter cards to eligible voters on December 12, 2022 and it will end on January 22, 2023. The PVCs is their right, it is also their power and voice.

“Every Nigerian needs it to elect credible leaders into office in the coming elections.”

While urging the electorates to vote for all candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, both at the national and state levels, Okai called on security agencies to be professional in carrying out their duties during the 2023 elections.

Speaking further, he said “it is not enough you are showing support, love and you want your candidate to win, you must first of all obtain your PVC. We will do all possible to encourage it.”
